History of Mahopac travel and tournament teams:
In 2004, after some lean years in the Hudson Valley Roller Hockey League, Mahopac took home its first championship in the 14B division. Joe Oddo coached the Mahopac team to an undefeated season. This was, and still is, the only undefeated season Mahopac has had. Mahopac defeated East Fishkill at the Michael Geary Memorial Rink in the finals.
In 2005, the 12B team coached by Jaime Latasa and Rich Barletta won Mahopac's second championship. The 12B team beat Cortlandt 8-2 in the finals at Shelton, Conneticut and finished with a 12-1-0 record. The Buckley and Hangach 10B team took home the second place medals in their tournament.
In 2006, Bob Buckley & John Hangach coached the Mahopac 10U team to a record of 7-3-0 and played in the "A" division during the playoffs. This was the first time any Mahopac team played for the "A" cup.
In 2007, Joe Oddo's 16U team won Mahopac's third championship. Mahopac defeated Monroe 8-3 in the finals at Ice Time in Newburgh, NY. Mahopac also took home the second place medals in the 12B division. Coach Buckley and Coach Hangach became the first Mahopac coaches to have three straight winning seasons. Goalie Brandon Timmins led the 14B division in shutouts.
In 2008, Coach Bob Buckley and John Hangach followed up their NARCH tournament victory by competing in the 12A division and finishing with a 6-5-1 record. James Treiling's 10U team, which also competed in the NARCH under Harri Stock, finished with a 6-6-0 record. The 14B team, coached by Kevin Kennedy finished with a 7-5-0 record. All three teams finished one game short of making it to their league championship game. Coach Jaime Latasa's 18U team won the Newburgh Memorial Weekend Tournament as Rob Fitchett scored six goals in the championship game.
In 2009, Coach Bob Buckley's 12U team won the HVRHL Championship in the 12A Division for the forth championship in Mahopac's history. Coach's Buckley's team finished an undefeated season that included a TOURS Tournament Championship in May. The 16U team coached by Jaime Latasa finished second in the regular season and made it to the semi-finals of their playoffs. Jaime Latasa co-coached the Wesco Phantoms to a second place finish in 16U division at the Hershey Games in August.
In 2010, Coach Bob Buckley repeated as champions by winning the 14AA Division over the Newburgh Stars 4-2. Coach Buckley's team also won the Gold medal at the 2010 Nutmeg Games. Coach Kevin Kennedy's 18U team won the Silver Medal in their division. Coach Jaime Latasa's Pink Panthers 12U team won the Don Joyce Memorial Sportsmanship Award.
